One of the most common questions after filing Form N-400 is: “How long will my citizenship case take?” The answer depends on several factors, including your local USCIS field office, background checks, and case complexity.
USCIS field offices do not all move at the same speed. A case in one city may reach interview faster than a similar case in another city because of local workload, staffing, and interview appointment availability.
You cannot control every timeline factor, but you can use the waiting period wisely. Prepare your civics answers, English reading and writing, and review your N-400 for consistency.
Use CivicFlare during your waiting period so you are ready when USCIS schedules your interview.
